We have enjoyed nearly 30 years of success in this business because we like what we do and are good at it.

An Open Letter from Jim Ward

I founded the Ward Group believing that clients could be better served by our profession and set out to create an environment and approach that would allow us to continuously deliver superior results.

In choosing the search profession, I combined my entrepreneurial drive, marketing expertise, and relationship skills to create a unique offering to clients and sought to build a team at The Ward Group with like-minded people. We like what we do and the clients we develop relationships with. I am proud of what we do and how we do it.

Prior to choosing the search profession 30 years ago (pre-historic times), I enjoyed a successful career in marketing and sales in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries. Having built a marketing group of 16 professionals as a client and served as Managing Partner of the largest office of a national recruiting firm, I experienced and recognized what works and what does not work in recruiting and retaining talented marketing leadership.

The search profession is both art and science. We combine our analytical skills with great instincts to ensure our clients are served well and that we have some fun along the way.

My parents taught me the importance of values, hard work, respect for others, and the notion that you should never take anything for granted. I learned the service business at the young age of 10 - as a caddy. At that very early stage in my “career,” I learned the satisfaction that comes from going above and beyond for your client - like knowing when to offer assistance and advice or when to keep quiet and just be supportive. We still apply this philosophy to our client relationships today.

At the end of the day, the most important thing you should know about myself and The Ward Group team is that we have enjoyed nearly 30 years of success in this business because we like what we do and are good at it; clients reap the benefits from that.
