Initially, I began my career in college athletics. Working at schools such as Boston College, Harvard University, and Dartmouth College, I was heavily involved in the recruitment of prospective football student-athletes. It was a process that began with identifying prospects, evaluating talent, and then recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. Boston College, Harvard, and Dartmouth have strong brands, but so do many of their competitors. Differentiating the message of our program and developing a unique value proposition for each school was a crucial element of success.

So, when I began to explore career pathways, the world of executive search seemed like a natural fit. Here is an industry that provides the best aspects of the environment I was used to—a fast-paced, competitive atmosphere that puts a premium on relationships. And my time working in college athletics taught me that when it comes to success, “it’s all about people.”

After meeting with The Ward Group and learning about the stellar reputation they enjoy and their unique team-based approach, my mind was made up.  This was the industry and the organization I wanted to join.

Today, I am grateful to be a part of a team of professionals who value hard work and integrity, just like I do. For me, the most enjoyable aspect of what we do at The Ward Group is understanding clients’ values—beyond the job description, while simultaneously getting to know candidates—beyond the resume. The synergy that is created when the two align is the ultimate payoff.

My wife, Jade, and I are lucky to have three young children who make sure that our plates are full (and often overflowing!) with love, learning, bugs, and outdoor activities of all kinds.
